At xS.T.R.E.A.M. Minds Academy, scholars engage in a dynamic interdisciplinary model that integrates Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math. STREAM classes blend hands-on challenges with real-world tools to spark curiosity, deepen critical thinking, and foster innovation.
Scholars explore specialized topics across grade levels:

Animation, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Drones, Robotics
1st, 4th, 7th:
Coding, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Robotics
2nd, 5th, 8th:
Engineering Design, Mobile App Development, AR/VR, Robotics
The program is aligned with the Alabama Digital Literacy and Computer Science (DLCS) Standards, ensuring scholars build foundational digital skills, computational thinking, and responsible tech practices.

Reading
Literacy is the foundation of academic success at xMA and is intentionally embedded across all core subjects. By integrating reading, writing, vocabulary, and oral language development throughout the school day, scholars experience a continuous, content-rich literacy experience that strengthens skills in every subject.
In addition to foundational literacy, scholars receive explicit instruction in Digital Literacy and Digital Citizenship, learning to evaluate online information, communicate safely, and engage responsibly in digital spaces. This schoolwide focus ensures every scholar becomes a thoughtful reader and empowered digital learner, prepared to succeed in both academic and technological environments.

Every Friday, scholars participate in Fine Arts Friday a joyful rotation through four artistic disciplines:

Dance
These experiences nurture creativity, expression, and cultural appreciation. To enrich the program, xMA partners with local fine arts organizations and teaching artists who provide high-quality instruction and bring real-world arts experiences into the classroom. Fine Arts Friday gives scholars the opportunity to discover new passions, build confidence, and bring the “A” in STREAM to life through movement, performance, and design.
