Overview
xS.T.R.E.A.M. Minds Academy (xMA) is reimagining education for the next generation of learners. Our model merges Personalized Learning, S.T.R.E.A.M. education (Science, Technology, Reading, Engineering, Arts, and Math), and Social-Emotional Learning into a superhero-themed environment where every child is empowered to discover their superpowers.
We are seeking passionate, student-centered K–2 Teachers who believe that every learner—regardless of background, ability, or identity—deserves a rigorous, joyful, and inclusive classroom. Teachers at xMA use data, small-group instruction, and innovative tools to personalize instruction and help students thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Excellence
Deliver standards-aligned, grade-level instruction in core subjects (reading, math, science, writing, and social studies) using iReady and other research-based curricula
Implement xMA’s instructional model, including:
Modern Classrooms Project (MCP) strategies
Mastery-Based Learning
Universal Design for Learning (UDL)
Blended Learning and small group instruction
Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners, including English Language Learners (ELLs), students with IEPs/504 Plans, and gifted learners
Use formative and summative data to track student progress and adjust instruction accordingly
Collaborate with coaches, co-teachers, and specialists to support inclusion, intervention, and enrichment
Classroom Culture & Social-Emotional Learning
Build a warm, structured, and inclusive learning environment that promotes xMA’s P.O.W.E.R.S. values (Positive Attitude, Ownership Now, Work Hard, Encourage Others, Respect All, Safety)
Integrate daily SEL routines, morning meetings, and reflection activities aligned with CASEL competencies
Use restorative and developmentally appropriate classroom management strategies
Celebrate student growth and success through schoolwide systems like Hero Boards, Power Credits, and Superhero assemblies
Family & Community Engagement
Communicate consistently with families through newsletters, calls, conferences, and ClassDojo
Collaborate with families on Personalized Learning Plans (PLPs) and student goal setting
Participate in school events, community engagement efforts, and Parent emPOWERment Workshops
Professional Growth & Team Collaboration
Participate in xMA’s three-week Summer Institute and ongoing professional development focused on personalized learning, SEL, STREAM, and inclusive practices
Engage in weekly Professional Learning Communities (PLCs), data meetings, and instructional coaching cycles
Reflect on teaching practices, set goals, and contribute to a collaborative, mission-driven team culture
Partner with STREAM, special education, and SEL teams to ensure holistic support for every child
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree required; teaching credential (or eligibility for alternative certification in Alabama) preferred
Experience teaching early elementary grades (K–2), preferably in diverse or inclusive settings
Passion for student-centered learning, data-informed instruction, and equitable practices
Strong understanding of foundational literacy, early numeracy, and child development
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Belief in the mission, model, and superhero-themed culture of xS.T.R.E.A.M. Minds Academy
